San Francisco’s Stunning 2017 Decorator Showcase Home Hits the Market for $20M

Whether you’re a minimalist who enjoys clean lines, a bold personality who loves color, or anything in between, the 2017 San Francisco Decorator Showcase certainly has a dream room for everyone. Featuring the work of 28 designers and landscape architects, no detail was spared in creating an eclectic and exciting residential experience. Now on the market fully furnished for the price of $19.95 million, the Pacific Heights Classic Revival is eagerly awaiting a buyer.

With 11,000 square feet of beautiful interiors, it’s impossible to sum the home up in just one word, but the closest thing possible is magnificent. Designers from all backgrounds and influences came together to create a work of art that exudes sophistication, elegance, and playfulness all in one. Built in 1906 by architect Samuel Newsom and his son Sidney, period details shine through in the form of wood paneling and beamed ceilings, and, of course, in the home’s extravagant staircase.

For frequent entertainers, the house has useful and stunning spaces for all your guests. The massive kitchen, designed by Jon De La Cruz, occupies more than half of the backside of the house and provides everything needed for prep, cooking, and storage. Boasting a neutral, modern color palette, a center island anchors the space while even the most active family can bustle around. Another star of the main floor is the formal living room by Jonathan Rachman Design. A traditional and cheery space defined by its hand-embroidered de Gournay wallpaper, the design channels the aesthetic of Hubert de Givenchy’s salon and friend Audrey Hepburn.

The home’s private spaces are just as abundant, holding eight bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two additional half baths. With rooms designed for all ages, “The Great Exploration Kid’s Room” by Sherry Hope-Kennedy is a playful space with wood elements, described by the designer as a “shelter for the seeker of all things fun and free,” according to Dwell.

Nina Hatvany of Team Hatvany at Compass has the rare listing. If Dallas is more your thing, the 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House there listed last year and is also worth a look.
