A magnificent San Francisco home with city and bay views, a beautiful floating helix staircase and a three-story chandelier has hit the market for nearly $20 million.

Spanning 10,824 square feet, the six-level Russian Hill residence’s incredible architecture and ultra-luxury design stands out. The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion comes with a wine cellar, elevator, expansive roof deck, guest apartment and a five-car garage.

Leslie Stretch, CEO of software company Medallia, and his wife Heather bought the home for $20 million in January 2020, according to Property Shark, a real estate data company.

Leslie Stretch, CEO of software company Medallia, and his wife Heather bought the home for $20 million in January 2020, according to Property Shark, a real estate data company.

The owners are selling because their youngest child has gone off to college and they are moving to a smaller pied-à-terre in the city, according to a representative of Compass real estate firm, which holds the listing.

Nina Hatvany of Team Hatvany at Compass is the listing agent. The residence is located at 2626 Larkin St

The tech executive is departing with a showstopper of a home designed by architect Sandy Walker. The grand entry foyer opens up to a striking three-story floating helix staircase constructed from Scagolia stone. A Chilo Venini Glass chandelier rises overhead. The previous seller’s agent put the price of the chandelier at $1 million, although Compass could not confirm that figure to the Sacramento Bee.

Up one floor sits an open gourmet kitchen and family room. The family room has a nano wall opening to a private backyard with a seating and grilling area and a pizza oven. The garden is paved with quartz stone and features an open fireplace wall flanked by two small bronze Tazza fountains. The floor also has a powder room and living and dining rooms offer western views of the city.

The primary suite is found on the fourth level with a cozy gas fireplace and seating area in front of a balcony with northwest views.

The fifth level features a family room with a bar area and curved fireplace wall set against custom walnut paneling. The entertainment room opens through glass doors to a large granite terrace with sweeping views of the city, Golden Gate Bridge and bay.

A granite staircase leads to an oversized roof deck with double-thick glass railings and views across the city and the water.

Hatvany told The Real Deal, a San Francisco real estate publication, the residence is priced to grab high-end buyers who are still shopping for homes despite a slow down in the overall housing market.
