Design-Driven San Francisco Mansion Relists for Nearly $20 Million

A San Francisco mansion built at the turn of the 20th century has re-entered the market for $19.95 million—nearly $7 million less than its original asking price.

Built in 1906, the four-story Classical Revival-style home is located in the posh neighborhood of Pacific Heights and overlooks the San Francisco Bay and the infamous Alcatraz Island, according to last week’s listing with Nina Hatvany of Team Hatvany at Compass in San Francisco.

The nearly 11,000-square-foot house was originally listed in December 2019 for $26.8 million, according to listing records. The most recent price cut came last May, when the ask was reduced to $23.8 million. The new list price is about 25% less than the original ask.

The home “retains many of Newsom & Newsom’s glamorous period details, such as the wood paneling, beamed ceilings and wrought-iron balusters on the main staircase,” Ms. Hatvany said. “But it also underwent an extensive seismic upgrade and a thorough renovation on all four floors so it enjoys every modern amenity.”
